Google Mapping

Presented by Lisa "Kersch" Kerscher, Education Media Specialist, WorldWide IDEA (WW IDEA). Google Maps offers easy-to-use tools to support many different types of student-driven projects. See some examples of how Google Maps can be used, and then learn some useful and teachable skills for creating annotated maps. Participants should have some basic understanding of Google Maps.

Creativity + Standards = Love

Presented by Jennifer Lutey, Executive Director, WorldWide IDEA (WW IDEA). Excite your lessons and engage your students with technology and creativity without sacrificing standards-infused learning. Teachers often feel teaching standards forfeits creativity. Explore technologies to collaboratively rejuvenate lessons lacking creativity and strengthen creative lessons with identified standards. Bring a sample lesson plan to this course and discover technology tools to add creativity and engagement to your lessons while identifying Montana and Common Core standards. Reading remains a fundamental skill in our digital world, but how do educators use technology to make reading itself more engaging or provide incentives to read more? Discover a variety of angles, including a local classroom-to-classroom collaboration, an online reading-incentive activity called Read-A-Route, and some free, interactive Web-based resources.
