Home Education Solutions

Effectively incorporate students schooled in a home environment through distance education using our BrightWays Learning System

For years, homeschooling families have opted out of the conventional public school system for a variety of reasons. But the growing trend to homeschool means that school districts will continue to lose necessary funding for maintaining facilities and staff. Many families don't follow any structured guidance for teaching state standards. In fact, homeschooling parents often tell us they worry most about not teaching everything they should be, leaving gaps in their children's education and in their readiness to succeed in real-world expectations, like college entrance exams and accredited high school transcripts and diplomas.

Depending on a state's laws, school districts can partner with WW IDEA to implement our BrightWays model. This package provides the structure, software, and support to successfully run a distance education program or to establish a "stand-alone" charter school to enroll the homeschooling families into a district-run, home-based program.

Benefits

  • Increased student enrollment provides a boost in school district funding.
  • Certified Teachers can participate in the alternative education program, helping to keep good teachers employed within the district
  • Standardized test scores often improve with home-based students, raising the school district's average testing scores overall
  • Invigorating, innovative training for teachers in proven methods that increase student achievement and make standards-guided education meaningful
  • Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) for all home-based students, which create learning environments most beneficial to each student's needs
  • For distance education programs, little or no additional funding is needed for facility maintenance or consumable supplies. For charter schools, only a small staff is needed to run administrative services
  • Students meet all state requirements for following education standards, showing progress through assessment, meeting attendance goals, etc.

Transition Solutions

To better track & support students in a transitional environment

Students who live in tough family situations, or who have trouble coping with conventional classroom settings, often fall in and out of the school in which they originally enrolled. Following an at-risk student's situation and academic progress is usually difficult and time-consuming.

WW IDEA's software products and teacher support not only makes following these individuals easy, but it also includes additional components to help each student succeed overall.

Benefits

  • Streamline student tracking
  • Easily share vital student information with others, like counselors, teachers, etc., who are involved
  • Reduce student dropout rates by meeting their unique needs
  • Invigorating, innovative training for teachers in proven methods that increase student achievement and make standards-guided education meaningful
  • Prescriptive Individual Learning Plans for each student, which creates a learning environment most beneficial to his or her particular needs
  • Developmental Asset Building & Tracking
  • Learning opportunities while students are in the "transition" period, minimizing learning gaps and increasing the likelihood the student will return to complete their education rather than leave school completely
